This is an attractive map of the Eastern Caribbean. Shown on the map are the islands of Dominica, Martinique (Matalino), St. Lucia, St. Vincent, The Grenadines, Grenada, Trinidad and Tobago, Aruba, Curacao, Bonaire, etc. A portion of mainland South America is also present on the map. The title cartouche surrounded by sea-creatures and a European is at the top. A mileage scale and a scene of Indians with various animals, including a fat-tailed sheep is at the bottom right. This particular map is from Montanus' De Nieuwe en Onbekende Weereld ... van America. The publisher is Jacob van Meurs (c.1620-1680) Very Fine Condition.
